Amy learns to get through her PTSD flashbacks

Amy started receiving services from Community Connection’s Prevention and Early Intervention program in Spring 2011. When she first entered the program, she was timid and extremely uncomfortable. She had recently discovered her husband’s body after he had committed suicide. Amy was depressed, anxious, and suffering from PTSD flashbacks. At the time, she was currently enrolled in her last month of school and did not pass her English class.

Amy is currently retaking the English class and is a month away from passing with a B. She is also taking a math class and is earning a B in that class too. Amy has stopped drinking and states that she now even goes a day or two without thinking about her husband’s death. Amy has decided to pursue a career as a Radiologic Technician, and she is currently working on her prerequisites.
