New Mental Health Model that Helps Homeless and Severely Mentally Ill People That Had No Hope

Join us for an informative talk with Brenda Lee who dealt with schizophrenia and PTSD and how she is now doing well because of her own resiliency and hope, and help from the MHA Village in Long Beach. Executive Director Paul Barry talks about how the program is funded via new MHSA funding from the state which allows for a more comprehensive Recovery Model. He also talks about the employment program and in particular their cookie shoppe – yum. In our Prop. 63 Mental Health Services Action segment with Jennifer Whitney, Mr. Richard Van Horn, the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability commission Vice-Chair and a founder of the Village joins us to talk about how the MHSA funding came about and how it really is designed to transform mental health services in a positive way across the state!
