Susan lets her guard down and receives educational support

Susan started receiving services from Community Connection’s College Connection program at Cabrillo College in Spring 2011. She was initially guarded, and didn’t want anything to do with “counseling”. She slowly began to open up and receive the educational support services offered. College Connection staff has seen her on a regular basis to support her with anxiety, bi-polar symptomology, staying clean/sober, and her chaotic home life while attempting to be successful with her college work. Susan is working towards her A.S. degree in Human Services. She completed an internship at Community Connection’s Opportunity Connection program in the fall and is currently interning at MHCAN. She has faced much adversity during her time at Cabrillo. Despite this, she continues to be successful in school and has overcome many interesting, unique obstacles. She has done exceedingly well despite these obstacles, and is on track to graduate this summer .
